13 questions · Music

Michael Jackson from the USA is the ‘King of Pop’. As a child star of the family band Jackson 5 he had hits early on, before rising to become the biggest solo artist of his time: recognisable by his single sparkling glove and the backward-gliding ‘moonwalk’, which he showed to millions in 1983. His album ‘Thriller’ is still the best-selling of all time; the almost fourteen-minute zombie video for the title song revolutionised the music video. Other classics are ‘Billie Jean’ with its iconic bassline, the call to change ‘Man in the Mirror’, the charity single ‘We Are the World’ and the album ‘Bad’. In 2009 Jackson died suddenly, shortly before a planned comeback tour and millions of fans mourned worldwide. Good to know: He dominated the 1980s like no one else. The title caught on worldwide. Released in 1982, with seven top-10 singles. The music video runs almost 14 minutes. He first showed it to millions in 1983. The step looks like walking forward while gliding back. With his brothers he had hits already as a child.
