10 questions Β· Film & Cinema

Stanley Kubrick, born in New York in 1928, was one of the most important and headstrong directors in film history: notorious for his perfectionism and his visually powerful, often disturbing works. Kubrick commanded almost every genre and created a classic in each: the science-fiction vision "2001: A Space Odyssey", the war satire "Dr. Strangelove", the dark future vision "A Clockwork Orange" and the horror film "The Shining". For his flawless compositions he sometimes had scenes repeated dozens of times; his pursuit of control over every detail is legendary.
